Responding to Hurricane Laura

With the recent catastrophe also known as Hurricane Laura that has impacted so much of southern Louisiana, please know that the staff of the Arkansas-Louisiana Conference is doing everything within our ability to reach out and serve the effected communities. Praise the Lord that our church’s facility in DeRidder had no damage. And while the church in Lake Charles did get hit, the damage was minimal. Circumstances are such (lack of electricity, unclean water supply, and generally unsafe conditions, which yet need resolving) that we must move forward cautiously. We await the green light from the State of Louisiana. If you or others you know are interested in helping Adventist Community Services during this disaster, please contact our ACS director, Lavida Whitson, for training to be able to help.
